Baby A, Approaching 27th: 11 March 2010

Look at those Eyes, Nose, Lips, Cheek, Chin, Arms & Fist. You sure look Cheeky, Boy!

Dear Son...

Today's entry is gonna be short. Not that we're loving you any lesser. But for we love you so much, we're at loss for words (in actuality, Daddy's G4 system is down so I lack visual contents to beautify the entry thus let's make it a short & sweet one).

We met again this morning and you were your usual active self. Tossing and twirling in your tiny li'l space, without a care. With your hands clenched into a tight fist (we're bearing a fiesty boy). We saw your features so vividly! You're in your 27th weeks and is growing wonderfully.

Life has been somehow morose recently. Not that any of it is your fault my dear. In fact, it is you who get us, your beloved mummy & daddy going. There's time when we feel like shutting the world off and run to a land far, far away. Get lost somewhere and never to be found (except by a certain foursome). But it is all so surreal. It is indeed, not real. Reality sinks in & "here-we-are-back-again".

When you're old enough to read this entry, I do want you to remember that, Life's a hard nut to crack my son. A quagmire. But what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Yeah!

On a happier note, Dr Surinder keeps smiling at the wonderful progress you've been making. I am so proud of you. You made it very easy for us. Dr S asks me to come up with a birth plan. Just 3 more months till you'll be crying and swaddling in my arms! Time flies very fast I wish I could Hold it for a moment. On the other hand, I can't wait to be Ummi-to-Aiden-Farish hence I wanna Fast-Forward time. I'm fickle. It's hormonal. :)

So, I shall now start scribbling my Birth Plan. Of which, will include, having Daddy & Nyai there in the labour suite together with us the whole time while your MooMoo will have to put on a Clown suit and entertain me with a show or two till the pain fades away and you finally pop out. Yai & Your Uncle Fie will be on standby by the suite in case I need an arm/leg to bite or a hand to crush. So there. My labour plan. Nothing complicated. Nothing demanding. I just need my loved ones to be (at-my-beck-&-call) around me for love and support.

Anyhoooow, let's start counting down to your grand arrival on 14 June 2010 (though the chances that your Daddy will stop counting on 12th June & force you out of me, immediately. before the day ends, is very very high). You better start practicing your first word when you're out. No boy. It's neither Action! nor Cut!. It's Uwaaaaarrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!! :)

Till next month Sonny!

Love
Mummy (who is now 70.4kg light) & Your Rockstar Daddy. :)

Baby A, Life at 23 Weeks: 11 February 2010

My Lovely Baby A,

When you're old enough to read this, do remember that today, 11 February 2010, your Daddy sacrificed his biggest passion for you. His sleep. :p

He started work at 8.00am yesterday. Wrapped very late & reached home only at 6.15am this morning. Slept (or rather napped) for an hour or so. Woke up and off we went to see you at our 8.30am appointment. Yes. Your daddy has been up, toiling & working for 24 hours straight and he still pluck up enough strength to see you, his son in all of your crowning (naked) glory through the ultrasound scan monitor. He loves you that much. So, remember my young Padawan. Your daddy is a wonderful man you should grow up into. Don't be a Mat Rempit or the likes okay?! :)

Have you realised, we've been spending days with Daddy in thick jungles, pond, rivers and cemeteries these days? I'm sorry. I'm much too scared to stay alone in our too big of a house while your dad is away for days, sometimes weeks for shoots in Batang Kali. So ya. I carry you with me and let you be surrounded by Daddy's fictional (& sometimes very real) ghosts & ghouls. I've been a very BAD mummy. Defying all taboo & pantang just so, we, can be close to your Daddy all the time. I hope, you'll come out brave and strong! Cos, that is what I have been (or been trying to be) this past month.

You may say, Daddy & me is prepping you for NS life my boy. Yes. That is something that you will have to do in the future. Don't ever think you're gonna escape the rigorous National Service training just because you're gonna be born and bred in Malaysia. No thanks to your Singaporean Mom & Daddy, you're gonna have a pink IC & be called to serve the nation. Don't worry. Your Daddy enjoyed them. He will tell you loads of his army stories, every night, during your bedtime. You'll enjoy them as much as me and million other people Daddy has repeatedly told them to. :)

Your dad's probably gonna kill me for doing this but look at that Baby A! Wasn't your Daddy such a Darling...? This wasn't taken during his NCC days by the way. This was when he was in the Singapore Armed Force!(I don't think your sweet old man will hurt me. Maybe he'll just spank! Hard! Which I like by the way.)

So, Moving on...

After 3 weeks of incessant kicking inside of me to mark your presence, today, we saw you so big & hyper for real! You've grown so much my love. With a blink of an eye, you're now a real doll-sized human with feelings & actions. Seeing you in your acrobatic stance made me teared. You're so beautiful my son.

We did a detailed scanning of you today (which cost so bloody much GOD-HELP-US. We're going to keep them receipts and make you work hard to pay us back! Heh! Okay. I'm kidding! Just get a good, well paying job and feed us well when we're old. Don't put us up in nursery homes okay! If you do! You can forget about having a nice cosy nursery to sleep and play in!) *_*

So there, you were given a Right Tick for every column. Woo hoo! There Darling. A Right Tick is what I want to see more in the future. No 'X' okay? Cos that's a BAD sign. Not good. Got it? Clever Boy!

Everything seems perfectly fine. The Sonographer went on & on about this part and that part of your li'l body I know nuts about. All we cared was the part where she says you were normal, healthy & kicking actively. Seeing your tiny little fingers spread widely, as if you're waving at us, again, made me teared. Your gaping mouth making a circle as if you wanna say Hello to us, made my knees go weak (thank god I was lying on the bed!). & Your tiny feet! Ready to stamp my tummy wall! MasyaAllah! Such a beautiful creation you are!

Mommy is at 66.3kg thus far. Very heavy. So heavy that if I topple on top of your daddy, he'll be crushed. You don't wanna have that right? A crushed daddy? So please Baby A. PLEASE. Stop being hungry all the time and make mommy your scapegoat! (Don't tell me it works the other way round! Hmmmm...)

See that?! How BIG ur mom is now? Compare me with your hunky dory father. Yes! Now, I look more like his mom then his wife. Ewww! Incest! I know! (on a side note, I also agree that this photo was unfairly & candidly taken from a very wrong angle altogether. I would have pose better if I was told to. Hmph!)

So, Baby A! We have to work together on this okay. You don't want a Big Momma swaddling the little tiny you when you are born right? Imagine! It's gonna be scary okay! What you want is a sexy hot mommy to greet you hello when you come into this world. Yes. Me. Sexy. So, let's curb both of our appetites for a better & pleasant future together.

Till next month my dear... Do grow well & healthy. & Stay active! I love your kicks, however often I complained about them. They are what I look forward to everyday. So please kick more! I promised to be less clumsy and more careful (the not so occasional hard knocks you felt recently was the result of me not being that. Careful. You have a klutzy mum love.)

We miss you already. & We love you so much.
Mommy & Your Zombie Daddy. :)

Goodbye Chic! Hello Baby A: 14 January 2010

Dear Li'l AF

Thank you for doing that impressive break dance stance while the Sonographer was checking you out just now. Guess. your Nyai was right. You WERE waiting for your dear 'ol Daddy's presence before opening up to the world. In fact you were like showing 'IT' right to our faces! (Take that you kaypo Mom & Dad!) Your li'l bum was so visible, I felt like spanking you!

The way you turned yourself upside down was really something huh li'l one. I'm carrying an agile acrobat in here! Mommy could never do that, with or without you in me. I prefer to agree with the force of gravity. (Maybe that is why I am prone to falling down too. Gravity pulls me too hard sometimes. Heh!) Your daddy?! Of course he can dance. In fact, he can turn himself upside down and stand on just his pinky! He is so agile that I sometimes call him MRS Incredible. But! That was 20 years ago. Ya.. A very loooong time ago. ;) Now?! No. Cannot. Period.

So, after seeing your tiny 'balls' hanging somewhere in mid air, it has somehow confirmed your sex. No! We're so not talking the sex SEX per se. We're talking about your gender li'l one. YES. Apparently, Gender & Sex carries the same meaning. Don't ask me why. Ask your Daddy. He's the Rocket Scientist in the family. We'll talk about sex SEX when you're a little bigger okay. No. Not a li'l. A whole lot bigger. For now, get Sex out of your tiny brain. Pfft. Kids nowadays! (;p)

With the revelation, it is time for Mommy & Daddy & EVERYONE ELSE (ferdatmatter) to stop calling you Chic. (Wonder how did I came up with such a horrendous nick for you?! Ooh! It was derived from my love of Chicken. Heh! Sorry Chic. Ooops! Sorry! Habit!)

So... Ya! You shall be known to the world as Baby A.F from here onwards. No Silly People! AF does not stand for Akademi Fantasia! & I'm not planning to have a baby of Mawi's fame, mind you! (Our li'l AF is gonna be more famous than that Mawi World guy bytheway) Hmph!

So, A.F stands for...? It will all be revealed in approximately 5 months time. InsyaAllah.;)

Oh my god!! I'm nearly 5 months pregnant already?! How time flies! But, the wonderful thing is, I don't look like I'm into my 5 months. Though my jeans have long been stored away, my tops & leggings still fit. Everyone around seems to be very concerned with how tiny my bump is. Even the nurses thinks it's too small to be seen.

-P/S: The Nurses ALWAYS have concerns huh. Even my 7kg weight gain so far is becoming a cause for their concern. What?! I'm gaining too little?! You call 7 HEAVY KG little?! No wonder nurses are mostly fat & wobbly (As per your Daddy). No. We don't have issues with nurses. Okay. Maybe just 1 infamous Nurse from Singapore. But we LOVE nurses as a whole. Wobbly & All. P/S ends-

So, (I get sidetracked so easily.) Anyways! What important is, you're growing up well & healthy in me. As per Dr S, the pregnancy is going as normal & healthy as it can be. Alhamdulillah. Thank you my precious for keeping Mommy strong and active so far.

Oooooo Kay! I think I blabber too much already. I still have 3 story beats to write and here I am being motherly & all. (By THE way, we can go shopping for pretty pretty dresses soon! Ooops No. No dress. Only Rompers, Jeans, Onesies & Shirts! Yaiy! Yaiy!) Heh!

So, Baby A.F! Again, thank you for opening up. Thank you for being the li'l one Mommy & Daddy has always dreamed of (Mommy, for the ease of dressing you up. Daddy, for his dream of training a future Raikonnen). Thank you for being OUR li'l one.

See you in 1 month time. Till then, keep on ROCKIN'.

Love
Mommy & Your Very Hardworking Panda. Eh! Wrong! Daddy.

;)

Hello Li'l Chic: 24 December 2009

Hi Chic!

You've grown so big already! No longer that peanut or olive you once were! Dr S said you got long limbs! & You're very active. I'm glad. Cos, I have been a lazy bum myself. Happy to know that you don't set me as the example to follow. & About that long limbs you have. Getting ready to kick me in due time huh?

So ya. I heard that fast beating heart again! (sorry Daddy you missed that!) Still sounded like you're floating somewhere in the abyss, yet it's the most beautiful sound ever.

Chic, your Daddy's heart, beat as fast as yours yesterday too my dear. But again, it was from some strenuous activity he engaged himself in. Did your li'l world rocked then babe? Heh!

So, today is the day I have been looking forward to. The day I was to know if you would be named SH or AF. But! You conveniently covered your modesty with your long umbilical cord. How prim.

I was telling Dr S how i've been telling you repeatedly these past days to open up. But, clammed shut you did. Dr S was telling me maybe next time I should tell you to cover up! & who knows, you'll do just the opposite (showing early signs of a rebel now do you?!) Heh! Maybe, I will heed Dr S' advice the next time. So, Chic, look out for further instruction.

I guessed what your Nyai said was true. You were not ready to reveal your gender today for your Daddy wasn't around to witness it together with Mommy. You're waiting for your dear old man huh? What a Smartie! & A thoughtful li'l angel.

So ya. Mommy's appetite has resumed to normal. For the first time in nearly 4 months, you get to taste what Fish is like. (& No! The Fish Oil Supplement I have been feeding you everyday is not real fish). & I no longer balk at the sight of anything doughy. & My morning sickness is GONE! Poof! (although you still makes me puke whenever we're hungry). But, I'm basically well & fine as the bright sunshine.

Mommy has also been the good Chef she once were. The thought of cooking excites me again now. That's a good sign! For your Daddy at least. For he can now stop worrying about which restaurant his money gonna be invested on every night & feast on Mommy's home cooked food. Let me tell you a secret Chic. Now that I am back donning my apron, I will make sure your Daddy will grow that Bonch he once had. 3 & half months of outside foods sure made your Daddy lose that tum.

He never admits to this Chic, but I know. Daddy prefers Mommy's home cooked meal. However bad & salty it tastes. & however ugly the presentation is. That is why I so love your Daddy. & you should too! He is a great man!

Your Nyai & Yai has promised to get you a Quinny Buzz Stroller & a Maxi Cosi car seat. & That makes Mommy & Daddy a very happy pair (cos now, we can use that money set aside for the said things to buy that 42-inch HD-LCD we've been eyeing. *rubs hands in glee*)! Heh!

So ya. At least, you'll know that upon your arrival, you'll already have your own car to flaunt to the world.

Mommy started reading you books last week Chic. Did you heard me from inside? Albeit, I know how the story about World War 2 is just not that interesting for a 3 going to 4 months old fetus. But hey! It's good to start you on World History young! You don't want to end up like your Aunt Moo Moo. At 21, she was still clueless about the Great Wall of China! Heh! Sorry sis. ;)

So there, another 3 more weeks till we meet again. Till then, stay active. Grow smart & Be healthy. I will do my part in gorging all the nutritious foods (despite the 4kg I have gained so far). It's all for a good cause anyway (you better don't make mommy too fat huh?!).

We love you Chic.

Mommy & Daddy

Dear Chic: 26 November 2009

We met again today. Seeing you jumping & turning in your own little world was indeed a sight to behold. Mommy was elated & smiled widely throughout the Ultrasound session. I'm growing a human in me you 'all! ;)

I hope you're not claustrophobic like your dad (which I'm sure you're not). Cos if you are, you'd be out, asking for a bigger space by now. Which you didn't and we're oh so glad.

We made it through the 'critical' stage. Yeah to US! Now, it's just about you, me & daddy enjoying your growing & development phase. Psst! Daddy has been extra nice to mommy these past weeks (not that he hasn't before)! You're surely enjoying this extra care too right Chic? Or at least I am. (now which restaurant for dinner tonight?) Heh!

Today marks your 3rd month. 12th long weeks! Time sure flew by fast! According to Dr Surinder (he is a very nice man by the way so please Chic. Do not jump around when he's trying to see you on his black & white monitor. He needs to see you!) , you're growing healthily in me. Despite my hatred of any other nutritional food except Chicken (explains your nick, Chic), you're looking fine & dandy. With no worries of the world! Good! Mommy & Daddy wants you to be a happy baby. With all the uncertainties and "surprises", life presents us both, we believe they are just there, so we can be really happy when you finally arrive.

Never in my wildest imagination had I see myself being pregnant much less, a mommy. If you can hear me all along, you'd know how much I dreaded being fat & wide due to pregnancy. The trauma of the messy labour (Eeewwww). Those that are close to me, are well aware of my take on procreating. Well, if the sex is good, why bother spoiling it with the pressure of getting Knocked Up? Right? Well......

I'm sorry sweetheart. Mommy had been a noisy whack. If I had known that the feeling is this beautiful, I would have shut my gap. You are indeed my ultimate endorphin. Being pregnant has indeed been a wonderful experience, thus far. True that with great power comes great responsibility. But you our dear, is worth every pain, every discomfort and every weight gain in the world.

At 5cm long, you are smaller than mommy's thumb. But, it's amazing to know that right now, you may be sucking you own little thumb yourself. "Get that tiny thumb out now you young fella!" ;) You have a fully operational brain now. Good! I'm gonna try to be less lazy and read more. There's no excuse to be dumb now since I have two operating brains in me right? Right!

Ah! & Now, if Daddy wants to argue with me on certain facts (which sadly baby, is his favorite past time) , I can tell him there's no way he is right as I have more brains than him. Come on Chic, be with me on this. We have to defeat your dear stubborn 'ol daddy (who finds pleasure in seeing me sulk. Pfft) whenever & wherever.

We have names ready for you. We're THAT excited. We watch Jon & Kate Plus 8 every single day so that we can learn how to discipline you li'l bub, in a smart way. (Well, I also silently pray that you will be as adorable & cheeky as either Alexis, Aaden or Collin) Yes.

Oh! We've also been to a few Baby Stores, sourcing for a nice Car Seat & Stroller for you. Daddy wants the car seat to fit nicely into his Grand Vitara. I want your Stroller to be as stylish as The Grand Vitara. Heh. We're too-eager parents. But then, we remember that first, you'll need bottles, clothes & such. The Car Seat & Stroller are of mere importance, compared to the rest. Pfft. We'll visit the Baby Stores again when I am bigger. Or at least till, we know your gender.

We'll make another trip to Tropicana Medical Centre to see you again, a day before Christmas. Till then Chic, Stay Healthy. Stay Chirpy. & You better be ready with a nicely wrapped X'mas present for mommy & daddy. We'll expect some stunts by you that day.

Can't wait to see you again!

Love
Mommy & Daddy

My Beachy Weekend

Hi everyone! I'm back! I was too busy growing up, I left the blogging to my Ummi. I hope she managed to entertain you all real good. But if she was a bore, I'm sorry. Chey! Call yourself a writer Ummi. Pfft.

Anyways... How was your weekend? Mine was wet...Not!!! Mine was sandy! We went to the beach! For 2 days in a row! We don't have beaches back home in KL. So, Ummi will make a trip to the beach compulsary whenever we are in Singapore.

On Saturday, we went to Changi beach. But as we were from a shopping trip before that, I wasn't properly dressed for the occasion. Clad in jeans & tee, Pfft! What were you thinking man? But being surrounded by my loved ones made up for it. Yai, Nyai, Mamoo, Maman, Kakak Gill & Ummi were all there. You were missed Awah! Well, you gotta workkkk! I know. So... We played with sand! I love sands. I used to be grossed by 'em, but not anymore.

The prior plan was to visit the airport cause well, I wanna see the airplanes. But hey! There were more plane sightings at the beach than at the airport itself man! And do you know all planes look like Darth Maul's spaceships from afar. With the lights & all! You don't? I so do, man! But when it approches you, the sound was so loud, I was a little scared. A little. Just a little. I love airplanes just the same.

The sun was going into hiding to make way for Mr Moon so we got to bid farewell to the beach. I was a little sad, but I had a long day and was a little tired by then. So goodbye planes, goodbye sand, goodbye Changi, goodbye beach... Not!!!

Because on Sunday we visited another beach called East Coast. And they said Singapore is smaller than Malaysia. Hello?! How many beaches you all have and how many do we have back in KL? Still wanna complain some more. (mo(m)derator note: I promise I'll explain to him more about how huge Malaysia is and how many hundreds of beaches we have there. he's 2. pardon his -me ish terror- engrish ;p)

East Coast beach was less crowded. I saw people camping in tents. I remember Awah telling me that we will go camping when I am bigger. I'm turning 2 soon Awah. I'm a big boy now. So when are we going? :p

I played with sands again. I am still scared of the waves, so I did not go inside the big sea. I wanted to actually, cause you know... I wanna meet my bestfriends Sharks. But Ummi said, Sharks do not come to shore and I am scared to swim in the sea. So yah! Maybe when I am as big as Awah, I will swim to the middle of the sea to meet them Sharks.

We drew a lot of things on the sands. Mamoo drew Maul, Ummi drew shapes and Gajah, Yai drew cars & Nyai... Nyai was so busy sheltering herself from the scorching sun with my frisbee, she drew many parallel lines with her footsteps. Hah!

We spent about an hour or so at the beach before Ummi said we gotta leave. I am fine. I had so much fun running, drawing and scooping sands, I felt a little tired myself by then. Yai promised we will come again before I leave for home. That is, something to look forward to. Weeee...

Oh My Gawd! Look at the clock! Its 1am! I have so passed my bedtime man! I will sign off here. Don't miss me too much! I'll write again before you could! Hehehe!

Wait! Before I forget! I know some of you wonder what did I give Ummi for Mother's Day? Some wet kisses & many tight hugs. Ummi knows she means the world to me. Ummi also knows every cents I have is safely deposited in Gringotts Bank and I have to be as big as Harry (yes, the boy who lived) to cash them out. So I have no money to buy her anything, now. Pfft. But, my very existence is more than enough of a gift to her. She doesn't need material appreciation. All she wants is for me to continue being the naughty little boy that I am. Ummi likes me Naughty. Naughty means I am learning. Naughty means I am curious. Naughty also means, she has my many little mischiefs to laugh at. Naughty means, I will do something wrong and she will tell me why I shouldn't have done it and I will listen to her every word and do not repeat the same mistake again. Ummi always say, It is perfectly okay to be naughty, but never it is okay to be stubborn. Weird is my Ummi & I love you Ummi!

Happy Mothers' Day to every mother reading this. You are stronger than Superman, richer than Batman much more flexible than Spiderman & sexier than Catwoman. You all are... Supermom!
