The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Thanks to Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Ayden has always been curious about caterpillars and butterflies. He loves the story so much, we bought not only the story book, but the sticker book & the pop up book for him as well. Different ways of appreciating the story but yes, the same storyline.

So, imagine his excitement when he saw a real caterpillar (finally!) just a while ago, in his Gramps tiny garden. He was a little icky at first, but about 5 seconds later, anecdotes from Eric Carle's classic started streaming out from his tiny mouth like a verbal diarrhea. All while staring intensely at the fat caterpillar in my hand. The caterpillar was feasting on a Curry Leaf when it was found.

Ayden said, "Cake, Cheese, Mami (Salami), Shueeet (Sweet) & Buah..." He was recollecting all the food the Caterpillar ate before he found a leaf to soothe his tummy ache. Right on my son. I bet this little Caterpillar has had his own little culinary adventure before he found the nice smelling Curry Leaf. ;p

 

So, how did he react when he was busy relating real event to his favourite storybook?
